Fostered in the Nilgiri Hills, Ooty is referred as the Queen of hill stations. Officially known as Udhagamandalam, Ooty is nicknamed as 'Snooty Ooty'. Coimbatore serves as the nearest airport from the town. It is nearly two and a half hour journey from Ooty. The roadway from Coimbatore to Ooty is simply fascinating. Ooty has its own railway station and it is well-connected with Mettupalayam and other towns of the region. There are trains from several cities to Mettupalayam from there you can hire a car or taxi or enjoy the toy train ride and reach Ooty.
