Many of us commit the slight error of interchanging the name and using one term to define the other, as if they were synonyms. Whereas, in reality, both of these – parrots and parakeets, are different from each other. The confusion could have been caused due to their similar sounding names.

There are many people who keep parrots as pet birds at residences and it is indeed quite enjoyable to have such birds around.

From observation and research that has been undergone till now, it has been noticed that parrots are social creatures. The more the number of people, the more they like to squeak, sqwak and make various sounds.

One has to careful while approaching a parrot. With their sharp beaks, they can cause injury and bleeding with just one peck. Children commit the mistake of going too near the parrot and getting injured as a result. But once the parrot becomes comfortable with you and starts to trust you, it will not bite you anymore. Just like any other pet, they are not very fond of bathing and getting wet.
