Bangalore University is also known as BU and it is situated in the state of Karnataka. The BU (Bangalore University) was established in 1886 and one of the oldest university of India. Bangalore city is the Information Technology Hub (ITH) of India. 

Bangalore University provides numerous under graduate and post graduate programs such as BA, MA, B.Com, M.Com, B.Sc, M.Sc, BBA, MBA, B.Tech, M.Tech, Diploma courses, etc.

There are approximately 497 affiliated colleges under the Bangalore University. The University is also a part of the AIU (Association of Indian Universities), ACU (Association of Commonwealth Universities) and associated by UGC (University Grants Commission). The University of Bangalore is recognized by NAAC under the innovative grading method with a grade A.

Academically, the Bangalore University is planned into 6 departments such as Arts, Education, Science, Commerce or Management, Law and Engineering. University have 43 PG Sections, 3 constituent colleges, 665 associated colleges and some additional Centres and Directorates of higher learning and research under its preview. 

At this time, Bangalore University recommends 50 several PG (Post Graduate) Programs and Service Leaning Diploma and Certificate Programs. The University has started the 5 years integrated programs in Biological Sciences or Social Sciences or Earth and Atmospheric Sciences and Business Studies and the 4 years B.S. courses.

Bangalore University Library has 2 sections, one in the Central College Campus and second at Jnana Bharathi Campus. Around 325,000 books are available in both library sections. The Bangalore University is developed an assignment name Bangalore University Library Network program (BALNET). The scheme has linked all libraries in the university within the campus and in the joined institutions libraries within the digitalized classification. There are more than 250 nationalized and international magazines are available in Bangalore University.

The Bangalore University has created a bio-park. In the procedure, the candidates have obtained knowledge in the field of management for social forestry. First time in India a university created an NSS Bhavan to encourage such activities. The faculties that are involved to creating a bio park like Zoology, Botany, Civil Engineering, Geology, Geography, Mathematics and Microbiology.
