Mauritius: A leading luxury travel destination

Mauritius is one of the most visited travel destinations in the world. Breathtaking biodiversity, white beaches, water sports and multiculturalism make this tropical island nation a dream holiday destination for all. With almost a million tourists landing in Mauritius in 2013, the tourism industry’s contribution to the Mauritian economy has been remarkable – nearly 14% of its GDP. Of this enormous tourist inflow, 67% have comprised of European visitors, mostly from France, the UK and Germany, besides other nations like South Africa and China in the recent years. This massive growth is also one of the primary factors behind Mauritius being acknowledged as a leading luxury tourist destination today. Among the good that has come out of this development include foreign investment, growth in employment opportunities and some of the most fabulous properties in the travel world.

Beach resorts, straight out of paradise

Other than a long list of attractions, Mauritius also manages to draw considerable attention through its collection of some magnificent rental properties. And talking of luxury vacations, a good number of these properties have been set up at locations that visitors find nothing short of exotic – beaches. The sheer sight of luxurious bungalows and villas dotting those immaculate beaches is an instant invite for travelers. And when there are fully equipped bungalows in Mauritius built on private beaches, wouldn't you mind paying through your teeth for such luxury? After all, peace and privacy in a tourist destination that’s a roaring commercial success are a package that many would consider quite a privilege.

Fancy a second home in Mauritius?

Oh, what would tourists give for a resort that would make them so relaxed, they feel right at home! According to statistics, the average period of stay for a visitor in Mauritius hovers around 10 nights. A further look at the statistics shows that villas and bungalows are the preferred accommodation for tourists staying that long, especially those travelling with their families. Providers of  holiday rentals in Mauritius offer luxurious bungalows big enough for not just one family, but even two or three families. With bungalows spacious enough to fit in 12 people and equipped with facilities like a fully-fitted kitchen, fridge, washing machine, barbecue, TV, internet, private pool and even a maid/babysitter, it can’t get any better than that. You get all the fancy comforts of home, the luxury of your own private beach and complete peace too. That deal is worth a steal.

Things to do when in Mauritius

Now let’s look at the things that you can do with your family when you’re in Mauritius, especially on your own private beach. With the beach all to you, , beach volley or simply walking are a few options. The ocean’s right in front overlooking the bungalow. So you could try out swimming, snorkelling, kite-boarding or even a boat excursion that are arranged by the property owner. And if not anything, just laze at the gazebo or the pool with some cocktails and enjoy the silence and the splendid view.
