A small effort gave world of relief to cancer patient

by Balbir Singh online marketing
Every year my cousin from Australia visits home during the December holidays for more than a month. While most of time is spent sleeping, travelling, eating, getting hooked to Indian TV series and being horrified to how we drive on our roads, this year he is trying to do something useful.

His mother, a cancer survivor has been the subject of his attention. While she was diagnosed with breast cancer last year and successfully went through surgery and chemotherapy, he always regrets not to having been around. So he sat down last week and began sorting all her medical reports and doctor prescriptions to feel the gravity of the horror his mother had been through. It took him a day to arrange all the papers into one file and a couple of hours to sort them in order. Then he took some time off to party.

The following morning, he got back and scanned all these papers into a computer and made a soft copy for himself. He told me that he would keep this information with himself and get consulted with doctors in Australia to be doubly sure of no recurrence.

The concept of online health record management to be used to share with other doctors for more opinions is a common practice in the developed parts of the world. Technology and its ideal utilization have been underway for some time now and people are aware of online health records and online doctor help.

Thanks to my advice he got to know that such a technology was already in use in Indian market as well through portals such as Medical Second Opinion. He has now reached out to three doctors from India and Thailand and received an affirmation of a positive recovery for his mother, all because he could share the medical data across with them. My aunt did not have travel anywhere and she got consulted by three top doctors online.
