A Quick tour Guide of Ashtavinayak Darshan
Rules for an Ashtvinayak Yatra:
The religious and historical significance of ‘Ashtvinayak’ can be read on the Internet, as it is important to know all the Vinayak temples before starting a proper tour. A complete sacred tour has special religious significance in people’s lives.
The following three rules are a must to fulfill in an Ashtvinayak tour.
Rule 1:
The right sequence of visiting Ashtvinayak should be completed in the following manner –
Morgaon – Siddhatek – Pali – Mahad – Theur – Lenyadri – Ozar – Ranjangaon ->Morgaon (again)
If truly someone wants to complete this sacred trip then he should come back to that place from where he has started the journey i.e. Morgaon.
Rule 2:
When people leave their house to start the tour of Ashtvinayak then they will return to their house only after finishing the sacred tour of eightVinayak temples.
Rule 3:
There is a particular rule to make the pujas at all temples. People will need to buy pooja plates from any of the shops at the temples. A standard puja plate holds a coconut, some flower, druva, modak, and tilgul. The price of plates ranges from 40 to 70 Rs. At the start, i.e. at Morgaon (Mayureshwar temple), while buying the puja plate people need to inform the shop owner that they are on Ashtvinayakyatra (there is some special reason for doing so!). The shopkeeper then offers a pooja plate including a coconut and the person needs to carry the coconut to all the eight temples and back to this Mayureshwar temple. He must tell all the poojaris at each temple about his sacred tour as they will touch the coconut to the respective idols at each temple and return it to him.
c. The coconut will remain with the person as ‘prasad’
Buying a tour package will be beneficial for them who are going on Ashtvinayak Darshan Tour for the first time. The tour guides know the timings of pujas at every temple, so tourists can easily cover the darshan successfully in two or three days. They will also guide the tourists about the best lodging too at each place so that they can comfortably complete the Vinayak darshan.
