A Note from Doug to B.R.A.K.E.S can save a life

I always like getting holiday cards from family and friends that include an update from the year that’s just ending. Hearing about all the great things that have happened in the lives of people I really care about is one of the best parts of the season; it’s what the Christmas Spirit is all about.

The B.R.A.K.E.S. Family update for 2018 is full of big moments and significant achievements. We trained more teens and parents this year than at any other time in our 10-year history. And old friends and new helped bring our lifesaving program to communities all around the country, while here at home we hosted our most successful gala ever and were honored to be asked by our own Carolina Panthers to provide defensive driver training for their rookies and other teammates.

Our friends at Kia made sure there were lots of shiny presents under the tree, replacing more than half of the cars in our fleet with new Rios and Fortes, and many other partners – all of whom we consider part of our family – gave us so much to be grateful for that I almost feel guilty asking for more … but I’m going to anyway

If you’re moved by the holiday spirit and would like to support B.R.A.K.E.S., please consider making an end-of-year donation, or if you’ve already blown your gift buying budget, help us out for free by voting for B.R.A.K.E.S. to be reviewed by Charity Navigator.

No holiday card would be complete without best wishes for the New Year, and I’m pleased to report that our 2019 has already left the starting line. We have a strong preliminary schedule of more than two dozen schools confirmed – beginning with a new location: California State University, San Marcos, near San Diego, Jan. 19-20 – and there’s much more to come.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! And thanks for continuing to be part of our B.R.A.K.E.S.
Family.

Sincerely,
Doug
