One of the signature schemes of the government, Smart Cities Mission, is being further enhanced with an outlay of ₹6,169 crore in 2018-19 as against ₹4,000 crore in 2017-18. However, analysts tracking the sector feel the allocation needs to be further enhanced to spur growth.
Industry experts say the current requirements for smart-city project alone could be in the range of ₹15,000 crore. The outlay for 2018-19 stands at ₹12,169 crore, including ₹6,000 crore for Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT). A closer look at the Budget reveals that the government allocated a total of ₹9,276.70 crore in 2016-17. For 2018-19, the allocations have gone up to ₹12,169 crore from ₹9,000 crore in 2017-18, a 35 percent increase.
The Centre has launched 99 smart cities in two years. The first batch of 20 cities was selected in January 2016, and last nine cities were selected as recently as in January 2018. (Source The Hindu - BusinessLine).
Companies Like KPMG, McKinsey, CRISIL, PWC, LnT, TCS etc are those companies which are aggressively working on Infrastructure, Smart Cities and IoT domain and taking the big pie of it.
I have witnessed 2 scenarios:
When any of these companies decided to participate in the bid process then most of the time they struggle to find right experts as per the ToR, and once they find then they want them on the lowest cost to make their bid more strong, and situation becomes more worst if that particular expert, knowingly or unknowingly share his candidature for the same project through some other company. I am sure you must have witnessed such issues.
By God grace (Yes), if they Win the project, after waiting too long, they realize that the CV which they shortlisted for that particular project either not available because he/she find some other project or lost interest because of delayed bid result.
Apart from these 2 challenges, there can be many more (if I focus on such challenges then it will take days to cover all).
Now I want to share how 'Get Me Experts' is impacting their project management approach:
P-I-E Approach: Through this P-I-E (Problem-Intervention-Effect) we are helping various Corporate and Consulting Organizations. In this approach, our Experts investigate the root cause of the challenge, these challenges can be related to SCM, Procurement, Cyber Security, Taxation, Marketing and Branding, Technical or any other issue. After the investigation, they discuss it with company's Management team and after that create a blueprint for intervention. After creating this blueprint they execute the plan and outcome (Effects) are assessed by internal and external stakeholders. These experts are global experts an have decades of experience, expertise in that particular domain backing by large exposure to solve such similar issues.
Hunting Experts for submitting a Bid for projects: Here we are managing the End to End Expert management process for top Consulting and PMC companies. The process starts with Receiving ToR, Understanding it, finding best available experts as per the ToR guidelines, converting their CVs into the specific format (Like World Bank) and submitting the final document to the client (Soft and Hard Copies).
