Speaking of inground pools, there are plenty of available options. Here, we shall be focusing on those while highlighting the pros and cons.

Packaged pools

Packaged pools comprise of components like steps, braces, wall panels, and vinyl liner, all being assembled to create the pool. Steel and polymer are the two most widely used materials. These pools are usually engineered under a factory environment, and produced with predefined standards in mind. Every component is perfectly designed to fit without any hassle. Compared to the polymer, the steel pools are less expensive.

Pros & Cons

The packaged inground swimming pools are easy to maintain and comes in different liner patterns. They are less expensive and engineered to meet the standards perfectly. The repair jobs take less time and less investment. However, the major con is that liners will face replacement needs.

Fiberglass Pools

These are again made from a single piece and can be prepared within a quick time frame. These pools are available in different colors and shapes. Also, they are less expensive when it comes to the maintenance part. But then, these pools are much expensive and come with minimal structural support during the time of decking.

Gunite Pools

These are basically concrete pools, highly popular in the Sunbelt states. These pools are more common for commercial properties and the construction as well the installation part takes long enough to get completed. It may take several months, with land excavation taking place and rebar or forms are brought for shaping the pool. Gunite is a totally concrete base, a mixture of sand and cement and poured onto the forms. They can also be sprayed onto the rebar. The interior space of the pool can be finished using glass bead, painting, tile, polished marble, or even plaster.

Pros & Cons

The major pros of gunite based pools are the flexibility in design options. They can be developed into any kind of shape, offering a high-end look.  On the other hand, the cons primarily focus on the presence of textured surfaces that can well be abrasive and creates a sort of uncomfortable scenario. They are also highly expensive as far the inground pool prices are concerned. The repairing and overall maintenance parts are also time-consuming. The construction work takes a long time frame. The surface is prone to bacteria and algae attack and can also result in discoloration.

Before considering any of the above variants for the pool, you need to talk to an expert pool builder. That’s a very important part of the process. Learn about the options that will best meet your requirements. You should focus on the budget and time frame too. Make sure the process is controlled through expert hands. The maintenance part is also a big issue. A fiberglass pool can be best suited to meet your requirements. Basically, the initial cost for fiberglass pools seem to be higher but the maintenance part somewhat requires minimal investment. Rest, you decide the options.
