Does Google Flag AI Content

Many people are still confused about Google’s policy on AI content detection. According to Google, however, their AI content can be detected. In the past, automatically generated content has been classified by the Google algorithm as spam. The reason is if the search engine identified AI content, it was being penalized.

Google’s senior webmaster trends analyst John Mueller told in 2022 that AI content is automatically generated content and for that reason violates the Webmaster Guidelines.

This was, however, changed in 2023. According to the most recent guidelines from Google Search Central, it now focuses on rewarding good content, no matter how it is created. So, instead of trying to avoid detection by Google while using AI content, digital marketing agencies can focus on using AI writing tools to create high-quality content for their target audience.
