Moving to the UK as a Freelancer: Your Remote Work Visa Guide

If you are a digital nomad and wish to work remotely from the UK, then this guide is for you. It's a fact that there is no other country better than the United Kingdom for digital nomads. I mean, it's an English-speaking country.

It has one of the best digital infrastructures, like high-speed internet, co-working spaces, opportunities for networking, and a multicultural environment. At the moment, there is no specific digital nomads visa available, but that doesn’t mean that relocation to the UK is impossible.

In this guide, we will discuss all possible options that will help you move to the UK, but make sure to book the Gatwick airport cheap parking while you're staying. So, let's break it down now.

1- Remote Freelance Work Visa for the UK

As I said at the start of our conversation, the UK has no digital nomads visa at the moment. It's obvious that digital nomad visas are getting momentum now; there are opportunities in countries like Portugal, Estonia, and Spain, but not yet in the UK.

I know you guys are dreaming about living in the UK while working remotely. But you need to understand that it's not about a freelance visa, but rather choosing the right legal pathways, which is what we will discuss now.

2- Visa Options for Digital Nomads

Here are some of the visa options for you, but keep in mind that not every option would be suitable for everyone. You need to just look at what's best for you.

1- Skilled work visa

It's the best category so far. Suppose you are working for a UK-based company, and the company now wants you to move to the UK. This form of visa works. A certificate of sponsorship is required from your employer.

I know this is not suitable for freelancers, but this is a way if you are associated with a UK-based company.

2- Global Talent Visa

It is not a very popular visa category, because it is only available for people who are well recognized in their fields. If you are the one who is an expert in their field and has global recognition, then this visa type category is for you.

It allows you to live and work in the UK freely. You can start your business or work with your freelance clients. The best part is that you can settle there in 3-5 years.

3- Innovator Visa
