She illustrates this using two of her own novels, Hawaiian Wildflower and Lilli's Song. 

In Hawaiian Wildflower, the eternal struggle between good and evil unfolds as a Texan wife’s seemingly perfect marriage is shaken when a pregnant Hawaiian woman arrives to claim her husband. In Lilli’s Song, the conflict is explored through contact between extraterrestrials - who may also be demons - and the residents of a small Texas town.
