8 Coolest Gadgets at CES 2016 You Should Know About
We’re doing a special on the CES held from January 6 to January 9 in Las Vegas. Techies got a big treat this year with many cool gadgets being launched, from futuristic virtual reality devices to human-assisting drones.
Here are the coolest gadgets at CES 2016:
1) EHang 184

This is, essentially, a drone that has the capacity to carry one human from point A to point B. Built by EHang, a Chinese UAV company, the drone can fly for just about 23 minutes at a speed of 96.5 km/hr.
2) Segway Advanced Personal Robot

This is a mini segway-cum-personal-butler with a cute face. Built by Segway, Intel and Xiaomi, when you’re not riding it, it can carry your bags and perform butler-ish tasks. Otherwise, it is pretty much a hoverboard for anyone.
3) Lexus Hoverboard

Speaking of hoverboards, most are just wheeled contraptions not having hoverboard-like capabilities like Green Goblin’s hoverboard in Spiderman. However, Lexus has built a really expensive hoverboard that uses liquid-nitrogen cooled superconducting magnets to achieve magnetic levitation.
4) Garmin Varia Vision

This is an augmented reality display headset for cyclists to mount on their head and get real-time information like traffic, directions and diversions. Costing around $400, cyclists will kill to get their hands on this.
5) Parrot Disco Drone

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it’s a parrot! Parrot’s new Disco Drone has a fly time of over 45 minutes at a top speed of 80km/hr. Controllable through WiFi on a smartphone and having a 1080p 14MP camera at the center, it’s powerful A.I. is capable of flying itself right from the start - truly is a dream for hobbyists worldwide.
6) Nima

Winner of the $50,000 Hardware Battlefield prize and built by 6 Sensor Labs, the Nima tests food for gluten in less than 2 minutes using antibody tests and disposable pods.
7) GoSun Stove

The GoSun Stove is a grill that uses solar energy to heat food to about 290 degrees in under 20 minutes, some even taking less than that time. The solar evacuated tube uses up more than 80% of sunlight directed onto it.
8) Daqri

The Daqri helmet is a smart helmet intended for people in the technical and industrial field to help them visualize the project (something like x-ray vision on a site), and displays critical information to the headset. Coupled with a heavy-hitting helmet and safety goggles, this device seems like the future of industrial workers.
