6 TIPS FOR GROOMS ON THEIR WEDDING DAY

by Liz Seyi Digital marketing manager

So, you’ve got down on one knee and popped the question to the love of your life, and the answer was “yes”! But with the big day looming, it is only natural to feel the pressure and nerves – and that applies to grooms as well as to brides.

Indeed, many people have long been accustomed to thinking of weddings as largely “the bride’s moment”, rather than the groom’s. But this, of course, is wrong – if, indeed, for those of you thinking of a same-sex wedding, a bride is involved at all.

It’s therefore crucial for men expecting to tie the knot, not to fall too much for the usual gender stereotypes surrounding weddings. The reality is that it’s your special day, too. So, if you’re interested in getting married in Gibraltar, now is your time as a couple to celebrate your love and create a day to remember.

With no further ado, here are some great tips for grooms ahead of their wedding day.

Before:

·         Choose your best man wisely

When you’re considering who would make the ideal ‘best man’, it can be tempting to choose your friend that is going to plan the greatest stag do of all time. However, you should remember that your best man is the person who will be there to help you on your big day.

So, you should select your best man wisely, considering who you will be able to trust to take on such a responsibility, and who you will actually want by your side.

·         Treat yourself to a pamper session

Why not indulge in the full barber experience ahead of your nuptials, encompassing a hot cloth facial, a haircut, and a beard tidy-up (if you have one)?

Not only will some well-timed pampering make you look fresher in the eventual wedding photos, but you’ll also be left feeling sharp and confident – which, we think we can all agree, is something every groom wants to feel.

·         Choose a suit that makes you feel good

If you are getting married in Gibraltar or another warm climate, you might not want to go for a traditional tux. Above all else, we’d urge you to select a suit that makes you feel especially confident and that will give you optimum comfort on the day.

On the day:

·         Make sure you have a good breakfast

Chances are that breakfast might be the only opportunity you get to have a good meal for most, or if not all of your wedding day. So, you should ensure you enjoy a nutritious start to the day.

Plus, getting married in Gibraltar or somewhere similarly hot can cause your blood sugar level to drop quicker than at home. With all of your nerves of the day, low blood sugar can wreak havoc!

·         Treat your beloved like the prince or princess they are

Make sure to get some alone time with your new wife or husband, and take a moment to be with them – maybe even to give each other a ‘pep talk’ if there’s anything either of you might be feeling anxious about.

Treat your special someone like the prince or princess they are – and be the prince that you know you are.

·         Enjoy yourself

Whether you are getting married in Gibraltar or anywhere else in the world, the best thing you can do ahead of your special day, is remember to have fun.

That’s easier said than done, of course. Nonetheless, the right preparation will help put you in the best possible state of mind as a groom, setting the tone for a big day everyone present should be able to remember for all of the right reasons.
