The doctor writes few medicines, and tells Shawn that everything is okay, and to return if complications are noticed. Just when he thought all was good, two years later Shawn notice frequent blood in urine, and sees a doctor who recommends an urologist (specialist in urinary tract and reproductive system care). On special examination, the harsh blow comes- affirmed aggrieve bladder cancer.

Are you one like Shawn, who may have been just unfortunate or lesser careful when it came to his reproductive health? It is time to get serious, and not to ignore the warning signs of something, which may seem a simple health issue, but is abnormal, only be diagnosed by specialists. Never think that little blood while urination is a cool thing, but it can actually be a serious problem and an underlying sign to kidney or bladder cancer. Early detection can ask for appropriate and easy treatment means than aggressive and expensive surgery or therapies on late detection.

2.       Elevated PSA Levels: Abnormal prostate exam or elevated PSA may not mean the person has prostate cancer, but may indicate a risk to the condition. If your PSA levels are rising, then it may be a cause of worry. Sometimes examination of urinary system for men with higher PSA can reveal prostate cancer, and timely treatment can be life saving. Do not follow “let’s watch and see what happens’, but get an appointment with urologist to the soonest. Specialists re trained to recommend prostate cancer related tests, and advise on the radiation, chemotherapy, hormone or curative surgery and other remedies.

3.       Kidney Stones: One of the very common urinary problems men face is kidney stones. There are many doctors who can treat the condition, minimizing the resultant pain, and help the stone to pass through. But, only urologists are trained knowing the non-invasive and advanced techniques used to remove or pulverize the stones, whether these are in urinary bladder, ureter or kidney. If pain is noticed while urinating, there is a good chance that you may be at risk of or possess kidney or gall bladder stones.

4.       Male infertility: Impotence, ejaculation problem or hormonal imbalance is what men would never like be inflicted with; after all it affects the quality of sexual life. If affected by erectile dysfunction, or pain during hard on, curved erectness or simply inability to father a child- be it these or other reproductive related problems, then you must talk to an urologist, discuss the symptoms, and get a solution to the problem. Something as common as impotence can indicate cardiovascular or neurological problems as well. Impotence can be treated with Generic Viagra pills or other non-invasive methods as well. So, do not put off the consultation.

5.       Testicular/Kidney Mass or Pain: if you find excess mass on lower abdomen that is painful or towards the penile organ and testicles, then do not neglect meeting urologist, as it may be an early tumor. It can be a non-cancerous tumor as well, which can be treated with surgery. Torsion too required immediate medical attention. Medicines and computer-assisted-surgery or laparoscopic remedies are available. Sometimes comprehensive examination can reveal artery related issue or stretch of scrotum, which can be corrected if consulted on time, and sexual life can be restored.

6.       Inability to urinate: if you are finding ir difficult to urinate or notice lowered jet or urine, and feeling that you have not passed out the urine well, then it can be an indication of urinary retention. In the initial stages, the condition may not actually present a problem, and may be avoided. But, gradually you may encounter uneasiness in bladder and pain, which means the condition, has developed further and required urgent treatment. A urologic examination can assess the problem and recommend a correction such as draining the bladder or collected urine through a drainage catheter etc.
