No matter if you are travelling alone or with your bunch friends to Delhi, living in a hostel can be a fun experience altogether. The ideas of sharing your space with random strangers can be exciting; but there is always a slight of apprehension about how the roommates would be? Will they be welcoming enough? Or will they adjust to your ways of living or vice-versa?

It not very uncommon to come across a roommate who is messy and keeps throwing around his/her stuff randomly all over the room. No one appreciates a messy living space; even if you are not a cleanliness freak, you would expect to have a neat space for yourself. So, without any further ado, here are a few awesome hacks that you can use while living in hostels in Delhi for enjoying a good living experience.

Use soda cans to extend wardrobe space

Most hostel rooms in India have a very limited space for storing clothes; the closets in the room are small. However, you can almost double up the space by using the tabs on the soda cans. Save those pull off tabs on the cans and slide over the hooks of the hanger and voila! Your space is doubled, which means you can fit in more clothes in your closet.

Separate your cords and wires with binder clips

If you are one of those who hate sorting out the charging cords and wires of your electronics items that magically tends to get entangled every time you use it, you would surely love this simple yet super effective hack. Hook the binder clips to the edge of the desk or the bed and slide in the charger cords of all your electronic devices through the metal loop to separate them from each other. So the next time you try to use it, you can access it easily without any hassles.

Find a better purpose for the dish rack

It is quite a pity that most people don’t know to use the humble dish rack for purposes other than storing dishes and kitchen vessels. The kitchen rack come in many sizes, and colours and you can use that abandoned or unused racks for arranging your things in an organized way. You can keep all your papers neatly arranged in the rack so that they don’t get crumpled. If the rack has a small basket attached to it, you have just scored a bonus point. You can use it to keep your camera, lenses, batteries, card holders, or portable chargers safely in your hostel room.

Use the saucepan as an Iron

It is quite common the clothes tend to get crumpled and greased up in the bag, and if you have no iron around, don’t worry, we have got a hack for you. Every kitchen in a hostel would have a saucepan, try to find a heavier pan and fill hot water inside it and there you go, you have an instant iron ready. If you don’t want to try this hack, you can obviously check with the hostel staff if they have an iron, most hostels in Delhi have one and they allow the customers to use it for free.

The double bedsheet is four times good

No one likes to wash their clothes while they are on a holiday, but nobody would appreciate a dirty bedsheet either. Well, you need not have to wash your sheet have a clean one with this hack. If you have double bedsheet, you can fold it in half for your single bed. You can flip the sheet around and use the sheet four times without having to wash it.
