5 Ways to Start Loving Your Job Again

Being in the same business for a while without making it big can make you feel like you're stuck in a rut and there’s no way out. It is perfectly normal to feel this way, especially if your company hasn’t improved for some period of time. You are not alone, and many entrepreneurs get to a point where they ask themselves if they could have achieved more and what would have happened if they had chosen another path. Know that your success is the reflection of your dedication, knowledge and skill, and it is important to fall in love with your job again.
Remind yourself why you started
The best way to remind yourself of why you were so persistent to achieve what you have is to take a piece of paper and write down everything that motivated you to start your business in the first place. Think about the things that kept you going when you were younger and at the beginning of your career.
Remind yourself why you chose the path you have taken and what your ambitions were, and of what you wanted to achieve in your career. When you have it all written down, write what you have accomplished so far next to it, and you will be pretty proud of yourself.
Avoid tasks that you consider boring

After years of doing the same things from 9 to 5, you certainly need to make a change and participate in some other projects. So, delegate some of the smaller tasks and free up some of your time for more important and challenging things.
On the other hand, if there is no one who has time for that or is proficient enough, then outsource these tasks to a professional. There are plenty of talented freelancers out there ready to work for a reasonable amount of money. As an entrepreneur, you certainly know the importance of outsourcing, and at this point, you need to get rid of some obligations. You decide how you will spend your free time, just make sure you have some.
Participate in other projects
Being involved in the same projects all the time can really make you hate your job and feel unfulfilled. A good solution is to go through the projects your team is doing and participate in some of them. Going down into the “trenches” with your frontline staff from time to time can give you valuable insight into how things are going and what can be improved upon.
Not only will it be a great change of pace, but it can open your eyes to a number of little problems that might have been affecting productivity. Having a basic understanding of all the different aspects of your business that can affect your bottom line will allow you to make smarter judgement calls.
Go on a vacation

Many entrepreneurs work all the time and it’s all work and no play. You need to escape your city and your job, and go somewhere else to rest, relax and explore another culture. Choose your destination depending on what makes you feel good, and escape with your significant other. Go on a mountain, lake, seaside, some other country, or just the quiet countryside.
Enjoy the peacefulness of nature and explore other parts of the world. It is a cliché, but you only live once, so don’t let yourself get stuck in an office all the time. Your company won’t fall apart if you aren’t there for a couple of weeks.
Open a new department
You have successfully run your company for some time, and it is time to take things in a new direction. What moves an entrepreneur and inspires him to keep working hard is a challenge. So, challenge yourself and open a new department. For example, if your company develops software, open a department that will make apps or even games.
Keep your company growing by setting new goals, while improving the main area of the business that provides you with steady profit. When you reach your goals, and begin to feel comfortable, it’s time to explore new avenues and take on new challenges.
Falling in love with your business again isn’t easy, but sometimes, all you need is to do is get out of your office and mundane environment, or even set up some new goals and challenges. See what works for you, and remind yourself why you’ve spent so many years in the business, and what it is that has gotten you to where you are now.
