a.     The ethnic Greek must make a declaration in front of the Mayor, Chairman, or the Head of the Village council of the city or state they are getting naturalised in. Along with the representative of the government, two other Greek citizens ought to be present to witness the declaration.

b.     Now, this declaration is submitted to the Greek Counsul of Domicile, which later transfers it to the Ministry of Interiors.

c.      For the aliens, or the non-ethnic applicants, there is a condition that they will have to live in the country for at least 7 years as a permanent resident to make the declaration.

3.     Citizenship by Marriage

Unlike the past century, the Greek government has become strict in awarding people citizenship of the state just because they married a Greek.

4.     Dual Citizenship and Loss of Citizenship

When an individual applies for citizenship of another nation, they do not leave their citizenship. Dual Citizenship is accepted by the Greek Citizenship Programme. However, if the individual wishes to renounce their citizenship, they can do so by submitting an application to the Ministry of Interiors.
