The fabric is such that it self-extinguishes or resists ignition, doesn’t melt onto the skin, provides thermal insulation from heat, resists breaking open and exposing skin and reduces burn injuries.

There are two primary hazards which are flash fire and electric arc flash. The fire spreads enormously by igniting an atmosphere derived from hydrocarbon vapours of an ignitable liquid or finely divided combustible particles like coal, dust or grain in a concentration exceeding the chemical’s lower explosive limit. Temperatures can be from 1000 to 1900 degrees Fahrenheit.
And, electric arc flash is the passage of a substantial electric current through ionized air which occurs due to an electrical fault. Usually, it lasts less than one second and it generates extremely high radiant heat and a pressure wave and molten debris. The temperatures are expected to reach around 35000 degrees Fahrenheit.
