5 Secrets That Professional Painters Will Never Reveal

by James Spencer Blogger

Professionals in any area of work in any facet of life would always make a difference. The mark they leave and the impact they create is always palpable, and that is why true professionals are adored and on high demand. The same applies to the world of professional painters.

How do they create this difference? One apparent reason is the level of expertise that they have. Is it the only reason why they excel? Certainly not!

They have some secrets that they will never share. For example, professional house painters in Brisbane as in any other place do the same. Let us discuss a few secrets that those house painting pros will never share.

Secret#1: Sanding way the flaws

Walls, woodworks and other surfaces even if constructed by the best constructors do not come sans flaws. They have undulations and quite a few pain areas. Now the pros would get rid of these hiccups using various techniques.

While the undulations can be levelled by sanding, the other flaws are eliminated using suitable ways. This sets up a perfect platform for seamless painting work. It does make a difference.

Secret#2: Getting together the Best Supplies

Before getting on with the act, they would put emphasis on the tools and supplies. They would prefer the best brushes and rollers and paints to make sure what they yield is the best in terms of quality. For instance, when it comes to purchasing brushes, they would prefer various types and sizes of brushes depending upon the type of paint.

Instead of one-stuff-fits-all formula, they use natural bristle animal hair brushes to apply oil-based paints, blended polyester and nylon brushes for latex paints, angular smaller ones for angles and cones, and the likes. This makes a huge difference - qualitatively.

Secret#3: Using Tinted Primer

Before painting walls, the pros would fill in the holes and the patch cracks using a joint compound. After doing so, they use tinted grey or a primer with the shade that is closest to the shade of the paint itself, rather than the white primer.

These shaded primers will cover the existing paint in a more promising way. More so, they will make the finishing coat of the paint more vibrant and solid.

Secret#4: Pressing corner tapes with a putty knife

Nothing is more frustrating than to peel off the tapes from around the surface corners after finishing the painting, only to see that the paint has bled through. To get rid of this pain-in-the-neck episode, the pros would press the tapes with a putty knife and stick them firmly on the surface.

Secret#5: Scrapping a Ridge in Textured Ceiling

It is almost impossible to maintain a straight line while painting along the juncture where a textured ceiling meets the wall. As a result of this, the paint gets to the ceiling bump, spoiling the show.

To avoid this, the professional painters in Gold Coast would run a screwdriver along the ceiling perimeter for scrapping off the texture, thereby a tiny ridge between the ceiling and the wall. The bristles of the brush while painting gets into the ridge, thereby concealing the ‘shoot off’ paint.

So you see, these are some of the tricks these pros would play in order to leave their mark on their service. It's not that these are rocket science, but some clever tricks that they are masters of. And this is not all - there are others up to their sleeves as well that make the difference. This is why it is always a wiser step to opt for a reputed painting service provider for having your property painted.
