5 Reasons to Go for Mobile App for Your Business

by Maulik Shah Owner

One of India’s largest e-commerce success in the past decade Flipkart; went app only in the year 2015. It was over the moon bold move by the e-commerce giant to get rid of the mobile site. The immediate impact of this extravagantly bold move presented the opportunity to their rival Amazon for the mobile audiences. And, Amazon cashed in on the opportunity with serious penetration across the mobile segment through their mobile site following Flipkart’s move.

However, after 3 years post this move, over 80% of Indian buyers prefer a mobile app over the mobile site (compared to 70% global average) for online shopping. When we crunch the app data downloads and the overall impact of 4G networks in the Indian diaspora, the move by Flipkart was much ahead of its time. It played a promising role in the company’s survival fighting a cash-rich rival such as Amazon.

Therefore, it is no more a question of choice for the leading e-commerce players in the industry to have a native mobile app.
