5 Practical Steps to Stay Safe from Covid-19

by Alisha Perry A Blogger
Covid-19 is a type of coronavirus, which affects our respiratory system. When it occurs to you, it makes breathing hard for you, as you have nasal and lung congestion. It enters into your body via the droplets came out of an infected person’s cough or sneeze and a surface touched by an infected individual.

Started from Wuhan in China in November and December last year, this pandemic has made more than 3 million people with more than 2 hundred thousand deaths in 218 countries across the world. In the USA alone, more than 9 hundred thousand people are infected and around 50000 people have died due to this novel virus. The number of infected and dead people is rising after passing a second/minute. You need to keep yourself safe and healthy so that you can win over this coronavirus. Here are some useful tips for your assistance:

1. Stay at home

Almost the entire world is under a lockdown to face this pandemic. People, except essential service providers (police, health workers, media professionals, departmental stores, etc.) are asked to stay at home. You should follow the ongoing lockdown and come out from your home only for buying essential goods. While coming out of home, cover your face with a facemask and avoid touching any surface outside. Further, stay away from crowded area and maintain a distance of at least one meter.

2. Keep washing your hands

Covid-19 enters your body when you touch your eyes, nose, and mouth with your hands after touching any surface that may be touched by an infected person. Therefore, you must keep washing your hands with a soap bar and water. You can sanitize your hands with an alcohol-based sanitizer before touching your face and eating your meals.

3. Be physically active

In the ongoing lockdown, it is hard to visit a gym or go out for a morning walk/jogging/running. However, there are ways that you can do at your home for staying healthy and fit. You can do light exercises, meditation, and yoga poses in the balcony of your home. Further, you can meditate and do deep breathing. The one thing that you can also do for staying healthy is going up and down on the stairs of your abode.

4. Keep medicines and devices ready for you

Maybe your residence is under strict lockdown, and you may not have permission to come out of your abode for any reason. Such a time might be very difficult for you. To face such a situation, you should get ready in advance by sourcing the medicines you frequently take and oxygen concentrators if you have already a respiratory problem.

5. Be positive all the time

At present, no medicine or vaccine is available to fight against this novel virus. Losing hope in life may be dangerous for you. In the ongoing period, think about Spanish flue of 1918, plague, recent economic recession of 2009 and other things from which this world has successfully come out. With this, you can maintain positivity in you.

Conclusion

There is no need to get worried from the ongoing situation all over the world. By staying at home, washing your hands frequently, doing light exercises in the balcony, keeping the essentials with you and being positive, you can easily win over this novel virus.
