Starting up a business is an uphill task. You will have to amass resources to rent the space, pay your employees, and purchase the equipment. To cut down the cost, you need to have a list of must-haves instead of would-haves. Here are five necessities that every startup business space should have.

1. Safe Parking Lot & EntryWay

The front of your building should be inviting to any potential customers. When they look at your building space, they should feel comfortable and want to come check out what you have to offer. To increase safety, you can invest in crash rated bollards wherever you feel is necessary around your business space.

2. Managerial Offices

The workplace should have a place where the managers can meet and discuss their plans for the day. This could include a conference room or simply having a desk in their own office. The executive offices should be secluded from the working space to provide privacy. It would be best to include noise cancellation devices as it enhances the privacy of managerial meetings.

3. Storage Zone

This is an integral part of the workspace. The employees should have their own storage space that they can use to store important documents and files. They should also have a place to keep their personal items, like bags and briefcases.

4. Reception Area

The reception area is where the visitors will come in. It should be comfortable to sit and see the entire space. The reception space should have:

A Reception Desk

The reception desk is used for receiving visitors. It should provide a good first impression to them. The desk should also have a phone line to be used as an extension of your office.

A Coffee Table, Bar Stools, and Chairs

These are essential features in a reception area. The coffee table should have a small flower arrangement to make the guests feel comfortable. The barstools and chairs should be comfortable, as the customers will use them while they wait for their turn to get served.

Wall Art

The wall art should be not only functional but also attractive. It will also give an incredible impression to the guests who will come in to be served.

5. The Working Space

The workspace should have good lighting and comfortable chairs. The employees should also have enough space to spread out and work. Here are some of the things that should be included in the working area:

Desk Space

The desk space should be well-arranged, clean, and have some free space. The desk should have an ergonomic chair that will support the back and neck while you work. It would be best if the color of the desks were uniform as it gives a neat and well-thought-out space appeal.

Work Space

The workspace should have all of your office equipment like computers, printers, phones or fax machines, scanners, and copiers. These tools can be used by your employees when they need to do their job or when they need to make copies or send faxes.

The office equipment should be placed in an area that is accessible to all employees. Also, the pieces of equipment should be arranged to facilitate the flow of office work.

6. A Lounge Area

The employees should also have a place where they can relax and unwind. The lounge space can include a television, a pool table, a video game system, or even a place to play cards. Other components of a lounge area might consist of:

A Place to Eat

This is an essential part of the workplace for employees on the go. They should have access to all of their favorite snacks and drinks that they can grab while on the run.

A Place to Meet with Friends

Employees need places to meet with their friends during lunchtime or as they get off work. It would be an incredible idea to include a coffee shop in the office or have designated meeting areas that are not part of the workspace.

A Place to Wash Up

The workplace should have a place for employees to wash up. This could include a sink and some soap, or it could be something more elaborate like a shower room with a sink, toilet, and storage space.

Conclusion

There are many other ways to arrange the workplace, depending on what is desired. The important thing is that these areas are safe and well-maintained.
