A healthy lifestyle is not only about good eating habits and regular exercises; it also involves having a positive approach towards life and a healthy emotional and mental state. Have a look at five steps that you can start today for a healthier life:

Get a status review on your health: Start with getting an update about your current health status with your doctor. Go through your routine health check-ups and utilize this time to enquire about any questions that you have in your mind regarding your health. Find out how much physical activity you indulge in a week and how much do you enjoy it. Ideally, you should indulge in at least 2 and a half hour of moderate physical activity per week for a healthy life.

Find solutions to chronic health problems: If you are suffering from chronic health problems like back pain, diabetes or depression it is never too late to start your treatment. The same goes for unhealthy lifestyle behaviors like smoking and drinking too much. Make an appointment with your doctor and address these issues as soon as possible.

Make exercising more fun: Have you been skipping gym lately? Make your workout time more interesting and you will start enjoying it. Rather than doing some cardio go for a hiking or on a walk with friends. Set practical and feasible fitness goals and keep a track of your activities. Start with taking small little steps like ditching the lift or escalator for the stairs or going for a 10 minute walk post lunch.

Change your eating habits: Make a healthy diet plan or yourself and include lots of green vegetables and fruits in it. Get rid of all the junk and crap. Keep healthy snacks with you always so that you do not end up buying something unhealthy when you are hungry. Include at least five to nine daily servings of varied fruits and vegetables in your diet.

Stress management: Indulge in activities like yoga and meditation to manage your stress levels. Find out quick and easy ways to de-stress yourself after stressful situations that happen suddenly without any warning.
