by Jasbir Kaur Digital Marketing ExecutiveEver since the age of Walkman, the headphones have
been one of the basic staples of our life. From helping us to de-stress after a
long and hectic day at the workplace, to simply buoying up our travel
experience; headphones are truly a form of escapade.
But how many of us really know that a standard pair of
headphone is open for modification? There are more than a hundred unearthed
modifications for particular headphone models, and there are thousand Do It
Yourself modifications available and applicable for all headphones.
Be it for a costly headphone pair which you wish to have sound-proofed for your next flight journey, or is a crisp bass sound that you want; Here are five amazing DIY hacks to improve the sound of your headphone.
#1. Making of Over-Your-Ear Headphone with the Help of Twist Ties
An avid runner, power-walker or a jogger? Well,
there’s a possibility that you have real-time struggles keeping your headphones
in the right place. Right? Right! An easy yet effective fix for this is to
arrange two earbuds. Twist and tie the earbuds to each other, and tie it at the
back of your earbud, thereafter arching it to fix over the ears.
Ensure that you have twisted the tie quite tightly on
the earbud.
#2. Earplugs to Create a Sound-Proof Headphone
If you are in a desperate search for a pair of
headphones that are sound-proof, then gather ear-foam earplugs and an in-ear
headphone. To create this modification, you need to squish the pair of ear foam
earplug into the pancake. Therafter, use a good mechanical pen to make a hole
through it to enable the sound to come out. Then, you will have to push the
pair of earplugs on top of the earbud that is in-ear, and then you can start
using them.
3) Velour Pads to Enhance the Sound and Feel
In case you are carrying a pair of low-cost
headphones, the probability is that they aren’t quite a good thing to own. Most
of the inexpensive pair of headphones are designed with faux leather, which is
known to muffle the quality of sound and are termed as uncomfortable. How about
buying velour pads, to fix your headphones? Velour pads are widely available in
all the online stores, which can easily fit all the sizes of headphones.
Replace your current ear-pads with the velour pads, by
just pulling off your present earbuds. You can also make use of a screwdriver
to do the task.
4) Bluetooth Device to Transform your Headphones Wireless
If you do not wish to plug in your headphones into the
phone or computer, you can always transform them into semi-wireless with the
help of a Bluetooth device and a Jabra Clipper.
You first have to plug the headphones in Jabra
Clipper, and thereafter plug it into a Bluetooth device. After you have
connected them, ensure that you go to the Settings menu in the Bluetooth device
and ensure it has recognized your headphones.
5) Better the Bass Straight from Control Panel
One of the easiest modifications that you can try
right now sans having to purchase a thing is by changing the setting on your
control panel. By changing the Control Panel settings you can improve the
quality of sound in the headphone, besides enhancing the bass.
To get this done, first go to Control Panel and select
the ‘Hardware and Sound’ option. From there, you have to click a section with
the title- ‘Sound’, thereafter you shall witness a dialog window for headphone
modification appearing. You will come across the headphone listed in your
‘Playback’ tab that will open first.
Click right the headphone and press ‘Properties’ to
begin modification. In the second window that is loading, click the tab-
Enhancement, and thereafter click ‘Bass Boost’ in the next box. This would
power the low-bass frequencies. Also, do not forget to click on ‘Apply’, to
save changes.
