4 Ways to Maintain Your Brother LC107 Ink
It is important to take care of your ink and toner. With older ink cartridges, particulates may come out of solution and clog the nozzles. Doesn’t overstock the Brother LC107 ink so, they extend past their expiry date.
How to Maintain Your Brother LC107 Ink?
Avoid The Ink To Get Exposed. On or off, the ink cartridges are still exposed to oxygen once opened, which is really what causes them to dry out. Though, the modern printers give you an option of standby mode which keeps the cartridges as air tight as possible. You can turn it off and it will do the same thing. Also unplugging the printer without powering it off leaves the print cartridges exposed to more air and eventually damages the print-heads.
Lubricate The Print-Heads. It is not such a tough task to lubricate the print-head assembly’s track once in a while. You should look for the shiny steel rod that the assembly’s mounted on and not the plastic ribbon. You should even avoid touching any of the ribbons if you can. Just smear the rod really thinly on all sides with petroleum jelly with a very thin layering. Move the print-head assembly back and forth a few times afterward to lubricate the inside. If you catch any excess lube, you can scrape off with a flathead screwdriver.
Recharge Cycle of the Printer. In order to keep nozzles clear, you have to burn through ink, that's the whole point of the recharge cycle the printer performs. It clears semi-dry ink out of the nozzles. These are mostly found online on the name of re-manufactured inks and it is great. The printer is connected electrically to the cartridge. A command causes ink to be heated and forced through the print nozzle and onto the paper. They can be a significant cost saver.
Do Not Buy a Printer With Separate Print Heads. It is no wrong to buy one but only if you intend to use it. The print heads sediment up and since most people are not buying industrial strength ink printers with replaceable print heads, the only way of fixing it is to throw the printer away. This process is absolute waste of money and resource when you find out your multifunction scanner/fax/printer goes useless because of this.
