The person who walks alone is likely to find himself in places no one has ever seen before.”  So, if you want to succeed in life and move ahead of the crowd, you would have to stop following it in the first place. Everyone has his/her own unique needs. By following the crowd, you are suppressing your needs and fulfilling the needs that you never had in the first place. You need to satisfy your unique needs to be happy and by following the crowd you would not be able to satisfy these needs. Once your needs are unsatisfied because you neglected them while following what others were doing, you will remain unhappy for life.

It Affects Your Ability To Make Decisions
By following the crowd, you lose the ability to differentiate between what’s wrong and what’s right for you. You would only do what the crowd you are following so blindly is doing. You will find it hard to make the right decision for your life once you start following the crowd. You would be unable to trust your basic instincts and would rather start doing what others do, You m might start feeling that the crowd is doing is the right thing and you need to follow it religiously without any questions.

It Kills Your Creativity
Your creativity would be killed if you stop using your creative mind. You might start thinking things that the crowd is following to be good enough for you. You might start feeling that what the crowd is doing is the best you can do and stop using your creative mind to think outside the box. Once this thinking dawns on your personality, you stop being creative and ultimately, your creativity dies because of following the crowd.

So, in the end, it all boils down to following your instinct and making a path for yourself instead of blindly following the crowd. The best step you can take towards achieving success in life is to step aside from the crowd and start following what you feel is right for you.
