by Amesterdam Countryside Amsterdam Countryside Tours

Holland - or the Netherlands, as it is well known - are located in Western Europe officially, bordering the North Sea, Belgium and Germany. Its waters border the uk as well as Denmark and Norway also.

Famed for many things, not least of its social tolerance, clogs and windmills, Holland has a lot more than a collection of stereotypes to provide site visitors from all around the global world.

1. Amsterdam

If you're planning a trip to the Land of Tulips, then where better to begin your trip than in Amsterdam - the Netherlands' capital city and a diverse cultural hub of activity. It guarantees and gives something for everybody, whatever your choices. It features of canals steeped ever sold, galleries, beautiful parks and gardens, a tour of the Royal Palace and the infamous Red Light Section, where cannabis and prostitution are legal and the latter is sold in coffee houses.

2. Windmills

Okay, so it might be a stereotype, but no visit to Holland would be complete without enjoying one of the country's most well-known and glorious characteristics. Based in the chilled out Dutch countryside, especially (but surprisingly) in the windmill region, you can see old windmills that produce for the perfect postcard. A couple of 19 World Heritage windmills of Kinderdijk, which are the country's best. They are either octagonal or round and some are open to visitors. Also Read: -  Amsterdam Windmill Tour

3. Cheese

Situated in the north of Amsterdam, the populous city of Alkmaar is well-known for having preserved the 17th century of pattern of canals. However, they have has its place on our list because of its fantastic cheese market -kept on Friday mornings in the summer and starting at the split of dawn. The selling process requires hand-clapping, while buys are carried off by porters on ornamental carriers occasionally. The marketplace closes at midday, but don't allow your visit end there. A walk through the old town is a must, with lots of the homely houses more than 100 years old.

4. Keukenhof Gardens

If you wish to get garden envy, visit the Keukenhof Gardens south of Haarlem. The Gardens consists of miles of...gardens. Every plant known to mankind can be found and the fields of colors and tulips will temporarily blind you. If Buddha returned to the earth, that's where he would make his home. You are able to spend days just travelling drinking in the visual treat literally. Once you see it, you'll never look at your backyard the same way again.
