4 of the Best Natural Oils for Acne

by Usman Raza Good things come when we wait for them

When it comes to eliminating acne, oil has earned a bad reputation. Although it is true that too much sebum, a type of oil that the skin produces, can cause breakouts, the truth is that there are still oils you can apply directly to your skin. These oils can reduce inflammation and get rid of any acne-causing bacteria.

Here’s something even more interesting. If we leave our skin oil-free, it will be triggered to produce more sebum, which blocks the pores and resulting in acne.

Instead of letting your skin dry, it is best to incorporate natural oils into your skincare routine. That includes the following:

1. Peppermint Oil

The use of peppermint oil for acne started many years ago. In fact, it has been a part of many traditions. However, long ago, there were no sufficient studies that can prove its effectiveness against acne.

Fortunately, new research was done to demonstrate how this oil can work against some strains of bacteria. Now, the whole world is loving and using it.

The best and easiest way to use this oil is to add it to glycerine soap or lotions. Make sure you use it on a daily basis for excellent results. Don’t worry. Peppermint oil has this refreshing aroma that makes it great to use for the face.

2. Lavender Oil

One of the most popular remedies for acne and irritated skin is lavender oil. According to research, a small amount of this oil can help reduce blemishes.

To use it, add at least 5 drops of lavender oil to a teaspoon of another essential oil – witch hazel. Blend them well by shaking. Get a clean cloth and dab the solution on your pimples. Allow drying. Do this thrice a day for best results.

If you wish to use this oil to treat acne scars, apply 3 drops to the affected part. Gently massage with your fingers. Again, do this three times a day.

3. Juniper Berry

Juniper Berry is one essential oil that is best used to combat different sorts of bacteria, such as those that cause acne. Thanks to its antibacterial properties, it can be effectively used to treat acne.

Be careful when using this. When applied to the skin, it causes a warming sensation. Then again, that feeling can help ease the pain caused by acne.

4. Lemon Essential Oil

Another popular natural oil for acne is lemon essential oil. Known for its antibacterial properties, this oil has proven its strong antibacterial properties against the most common bacteria. That includes those that cause acne.

This oil is ideal for treating pimples and whiteheads that hide underneath the layers of the skin. It is not advised to use it in raw blemishes and open wounds because it can only cause irritation. When used properly, it makes a great oil for any acne-prone skin.

In addition, lemon essential oil can also be used for treating scars left by acne as well as improving skin tone.

Would you add any of these natural oils to your skincare regimen? We suggest you should say goodbye to those stubborn spots on your face.
