for the use is concerned 5.56 mm is used a military and police people, also
recently it has been used more and more for hunting by sportsman .whereas 300
blackout is more used by specialised military units.
5.56
-The
5.56 is half the cost of 300 BLK and is available in more high-end loading
suitable for precision rifle fire.
-The
5.56 also shoots flatter, has less recoil, and the ammunition weighs about 40%
less.
-The
5.56 is also safer for use inside a building for home defence.
300
Blackout was designed by Advanced Armament Company (AAC), which is probably
most famous for its suppressors. art upon impact.
.300
Blk
-The
.300 Blk has a wider range of projectile choices
– Due
to the .30 calibre bore, burns its full potential in a 9-inch barrel, and is a
much better choice for hunting.
-Can
cycle both super and subsonic ammunition without modification.
As far as the rate is concerned 5.56mm is cheaper than 300 blackout which is also a factor considering its commercial use. Probably that is the reason why 5.56mm is used more commercially.
As far as hunting is concerned 5.56mm is used for hunting small animals whereas 300 blackouts are used for hunting down bigger animals as it has more penetration than 5.56mm. With modern bullet designs, the gaps between the killing power of calibers are shrinking.
-If you’re into the small game, go with the 5.56. The wide range of factory loading for predator hunting edges out the 300 BLK.
-If you plan on hunting medium or large game such as deer, hogs, or smaller bears, the 300 BLK is far superior.
-The extra mass gives more reliable penetration than the 5.56.
Conclusion
Well, 300 blackouts can not replace 5.56mm for various
reasons but it has its advantages that can not be ignored.
