3 Ways To Clean Your Car Frequently And Quickly

by Katie Gorden Internet Writer

Your car is essential to you. It takes you everywhere you have to go. It gives you a thrill when you are cruising down the road. It makes you feel happy when you admire its lines and your color scheme. Keeping it clean is a priority, but you don't have much time to spare.

However, taking good care of your car will make it last. If you hang on to your vehicles for a long time, you need to know three ways to clean your car frequently and quickly. Your investment of time and energy will pay off when you can enjoy your vehicle for years to come.

1.Get Your Materials Ready

You'll save time by preparing ahead of time. Line up all of your materials. You'll need a bucket for your soap that is specifically intended for vehicles. Microfiber cloths or mitts are a must. The soft material is critical in order to avoid scratching the surface of your paint job. Make sure you have a hose and brushes.

You'll want glass cleaner for your windows. Wheel cleaner will add a nice touch when you want your vehicle to sparkle. You can even use dish soap when you are focusing on your wheels. Once everything is in place and ready to go, plan on setting aside about a half-hour of your time to get the job done. Pay attention to the forecast. You want to clean your car on a clear day. Rain will only ruin your hard work.

2.Focus on the Exterior

The first step in actually washing your car is to rinse it thoroughly. The entire surface of your vehicle should be wet. You'll rinse off some of the debris and dirt before you begin cleaning in seriousness. If you don't rinse it, you could scratch your paint. Fill your bucket with a car cleaner and water.

This is the time to use your mitt or a soft sponge. Lather up the entire car, working your way down from the roof to the rest of the surface. Once you have applied soap, get ready to rinse. Hose off the car one section at a time. Move on to your wheels next. A brush combined with your detergent or wheel cleaner will help you get small spaces that collect dirt. Turn on the hose to spray the entire vehicle from front to back again, including your wheels.

Your microfiber towel will come in handy when you want to dry off your car. This is the best way to eliminate water spots. Get ready to devote extra time to your car cleaning routine every three months. This is the time when you should apply wax to protect your paint.

3. Move on to the Interior

You'll need another set of supplies for your interior. Make sure you have a cleanser that is safe for your type of automotive seating. A light coating should be enough. You don't want your seats to retain moisture, leaving you with a musty scent the next time you get in. You can use a brush if you are cleaning fabric.

If you have vinyl or extensive leather, you will need another soft cloth to make it gleam. You can use wipes intended for your interior to bring out the shine on the dash as you eliminate dust. Glass cleaner is perfect for your windows. Use a paper towel or newspaper to dry them off. Put on the tools that hook to the hose of your vacuum to clean your carpets. Grab a trash bag to get rid of any garbage you have left behind.

As a rule of thumb, plan on washing your vehicle on a biweekly basis during most of the year. If you live somewhere with plenty of rain or snow, you may need to wash it once a week. Don't forget the importance of cleaning beneath your car if you drive in wintery conditions.

The salt and sand used to give you more traction on slippery surfaces could damage your vehicle. A professional car was near you can take care of the undercarriage. The less accumulates on the surface of your car, the less likely you will have rust. When you don't have time to give your car attention, your local detailer can give it the royal carpet treatment.
