3 Party Games That Are Great for Toddlers

by Kevin Smith Author

Games are essential to fun kid’s birthday parties in Huntsville, AL. But for toddlers, not all activities are suitable. You need ones that are easy to play yet are still enjoyable. Here are a few you can try.

Bubble Popping Game

Unlike most games, the goal of this one is just to have fun. Small children love to play with bubbles. Letting them pop some can be a great activity for an outdoor event or a pool party. You may rent a machine for this purpose, or you can buy your own unit as it'll only cost you around 10 to 40 dollars.

If there are older kids at the party, you should try holding a more competitive game. Give prizes to the child who blows the biggest bubble or the one who catches the most.

Limbo

This game is easy enough for toddlers to understand, and it's something that they'll definitely enjoy. Ask 2 adults or older children to hold a long stick or belt over a padded area. You may purchase foam covering or a rubber puzzle mat to act as a cushion in case a child stumbles during the activity.

Ask each of the kids to pass under the stick without touching it. Once they've all passed through, lower it. If one of them comes in contact with the limbo stick, they’ll be disqualified. Keep repeating this process until only 1 child is left standing.

Treasure Hunt

Kids love finding treasure. Before your party starts, buy small toys or candies. Stuff them into colorful plastic balls or eggs and plant them around your backyard or living room. Be sure to do this only within a specific area so you'll be able to keep an eye on all the children. Here are a few suggestions for great hiding places:

·         Behind blinds or curtains

·         In mailboxes

·         In plant pots

·         Inside shoes

·         On bookshelves

·         On flower beds

·         Under lamp shades

·         Under picnic tables

At the beginning of the game, show the children an example of what they should look for. You can have a time limit for this activity to add excitement to the hunt. Make sure to ask the children to come back to you once the time’s up. Count their loot and give a prize to the one who found the most items. As a bonus, the kids may take home everything they've found.

These are some games that are great for toddlers. Try them out to have fun kids birthday parties in Huntsville, AL.
