Nowadays, missions have been grounded due to security reasons, but the historic articles of the country's interstellar voyages and calamities are conserved at the Space Center Houston. It is not a museum, though it houses a number of NASA's historical relics, but it also feature a schedule of exhibits (Star Wars-related exhibits are a favorite, for obvious reasons) and 'interactive adventures' (translation: on-hands exhibits packed with bells and whistles for kids). 

 The Houston Museum District 

Houston Museum District representatives like to brag that visitors can go around the world without having to leave the area’s zip code. And it is true because wonderful displays of art by European masters, magnificent concerts by Middle-eastern superstars, and domesticated animals that usually call the polar regions home can be seen here!However, an extensive visit to the Museum District necessitates some planning, unless you don't mind circling the neighborhood for a parking area and are okay sharing lunch with 300 elementary school children.

Houston Arboretum & Nature Center 

Like its neighbour, Memorial Park, the Houston Arboretum & Nature Center is asurprizing green space. Encircled by eventful freeways and lively shopping centers, the Center offers scholastic activities year round (like learning how to grow an orchid or how to spot a migrating bird), there are even some sophisticated evening events like wine tastings on the trails, but most people just revel in wandering through the Center's plentiful and lush lawns and woods.
