Mixed up Day!
Today is my son's birthday. He is 29. That is itself causes some mixed emotions for me. I just can't believe he is that old already! It seem just yesterday that he was my little toe head cutie pie. Now he is all grown up, with his own kids.Wednesday, one of my best friends lost her son to a sudden heart attack. He was 27. Full of life and love for his family. An undiagnosed heart condition took him from us too early.
I am happy to see my son, alive and well, and getting close to the big "30" But, I am so very sad for my friend and her family. It just is not supposed to be like this. Parents should not have to bury their child.
To lighten the mood a bit, my son and I are going for a little motorcycle ride to surprise my husband, and go to the viewing in support of our friend. Such a happy/sad day!

If she would like to talk to someone who has been there, let me know. This coming August 3 will be 5 years. It is truly a case of one day at a time.

My children are my life. Even though they are grown and gone, they are never far. I try to tell them every day that I love them. I just can't imagine the pain of loosing one!

Katrina, I can Totally understand the grief your friend feels. Just knowing that there are people who care means a lot. There are surviving Parents support groups out there that can help.
Happy Birthday to your son also. Days like these are reminders to never take our children for granted. They are precious gifts.
