Different types of mentors
Hi everyone,
A few minutes ago, I was ending a chat with one of my best friends. He stopped it because it was time to go to sleep for him.
Moments before, I mentioned to him that the Warrior Forum can be addictive, like APSense is to me.
He said "I don't need one more addiction". :)
He was right.
He spends lots of time with his wife. They take care of their garden ( it's summer for him as I write this ), they even work together on an online endeavor that is not related to APSense.
When we chat, he never hesitates to stop the conversation to do other activities. He is not abrupt, he's very nice, he's very much aware of his wants and needs.
In short, contrary to me, he has a life.
I work very hard to get success and make money with Internet Marketing. I hope that my projects get me results very soon. My wife will enjoy that I spend less time on the computer. It's a catch-22, though, since we need me to make money. She has a very nice day job with a good salary. The problem is, I've had so much fun in IM that I was not able to continue with my own day job. My former boss understands, at the same, we still discuss here and there, cause he would love for me to work some hours for him, since I have 20 years of experience in my former day job career.
Ok, I get to the point.
I believe strongly in the concept of mentors. I don't pay for mentors, though. I'm so active on the Internet that I'm able to share awesome information with my friends who have way more real experience in the IM world. It's a win-win situation.
I used to believe that mentors were for business.
Well, I just realized that my friend which just went to sleep is a life mentor to me:
- He does the right things.
- He does things right.
- Not pertect, just as best he can to get the results he wants.
- He is where I aim to be, i.e. he has achieved work-life balance
Business mentors. Life mentors. Exercise mentors. I believe that, to have success AND balance, we can't rely on our own efforts and information. Also, it's a joy to do things with other people.
What do you think ? Please suggest what kind of mentor(s) you have in your lives.

Now i am commenting your article is because of my upline he is my mentor and also he is my sponsor.He spent lots of money for me and also he lost money because of me.Our relation is not like downline or referrals like others.In online i never met anybody like him and also in my life.I have many problems i get upset,my mind force me to quit this online business.But whenever i speak with him i get boost up.Lot more to tell about him. Laurence, I agree, nobody in his right mind would say "I'm a mentor." Better let the others say that about you.

Mentors are hard to define. They are people who help you in ways you haven't even considered and the way they do help is often unexpected too. The best mentors I know dislike using the term when referring to themselves as they don't have an ego and are just keen to help others where possible.
