Guru Nanak Dev University to begin new PG courses

Amritsar, Jan 14 (PTI) Guru Nanak Dev University here would introduce 4 post-graduate courses and increase the intake of students for B.Tech courses in electronics and computer science.

The new courses are M.Sc. Physics in Material Sciences, M.Sc. Chemistry in Polymer Sciences, Post Graduate programs in Computer Science Engineering and Electronics Technology.

The university would also increase the seats of B.Tech Electronics and Computer Science Courses, said Vice-Chancellor A.S.Brar today.

Talking to the media, the Vice-Chancellor said that to strengthen the post-graduate studies in the University it has been decided to apply the semester system in its affiliated colleges from coming academic session 2011-12 andit would be implement at the under-graduate level from the session 2012-13 in these colleges.

Moreover, the University would start new courses with enhanced digit of seats at its constituent colleges situated at Mukandpur in Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar District and Niariin Gurdaspur District from July 2011 while 3 more colleges would start functioning in rural areas at Verka (Amritsar),College of Arts, Science
