planting seeds - update : 498 followers at IMfaceplate
at IMfaceplate, I was very active from mid August til end of Sept, I created 5 or 6 screencast videos, wrote about 20 articles, created maybe 20 spotlight, oh, I'm a Pro member there
Well, I'm almost inactive now, all I do is say "thank you" with a comment specific to the person when I receive an email saying I have a new follower, I automatically follow the person.
I keep getting at least 1 new follower a day, I'm at 451 followers right now, I like it, because I get referrals at APsense coming from IMfaceplate, not a ton, but I had no referrals 3 weeks ago, I now have 5, nothing to write home about, but I see it as seeds that I planted that keep growing with a little water every day

UPDATE : I wrote this article on Dec 17, 2010. Since then, I have reached the number of 498 followers.
Ironically, I am a little more active there. I promote what I do at APSense. I even wrote some articles in the APSense group there. :)

It's funny that you should make this metaphor. That's exactly the way i see my business as I'm building it; If I'm willing to get my hands a little dirty planting the seeds, and I take care to nurture or "water" them, then my business will grow as healthy as a plant in the sun. I'm learning that this process is one of my very favourite things to watch happen.
