Which the NFL Should Focus More On: Diseases or Breast Cancer?

by jerseys520

It?s an interesting question, and this is an interesting debate. And we would say the NFL would do well to promote awareness of other diseases the way they?ve done for breast cancer this month. Cynical cash grab or not, the league has a lot of pull ? and money. If some of that goes toward eradicating deadly diseases, that?s a good thing?no matter how it gets there.

The consensus among Reddit commenters was that the NFL?s efforts in breast cancer awareness are really efforts to build their audience (particularly among women) and make more money ? ?cynical money grab,? some called it. Of course, such a view is itself rather cynical, and hey, if the league is raising money by selling the steelers jerseys  and other NFL merchandise (they?re auctioning products for the cause)?how is that a bad thing, anyway?

But we do see the point of focusing more on other diseases that may be of more danger to the majority of the NFL-watching and wholesale nba jerseys  population. Some cynics thought the NFL would never look into heart disease because too many of their marquee sponsors are unhealthy foods and drinks that can lead to it. But would trying to raise money to fight heart disease really lose a monolithic organization like the NFL a noticeable amount?

As you?ve almost certainly heard and/or seen, the NFL is promoting breast cancer awareness this month. Most famously, that?s been reflected in Cheap nfl jerseys  worn by players and coaches. It?s a good cause, and any time an organization like the NFL can channel its immense popularity into helping people, that?s a good thing.

But could it be a better thing? That?s what Ryan O?Hanlon of The Good Men Project wondered after seeing a comment thread on Reddit wondering if the league ought to re-focus its efforts on a health problem almost certainly affecting a much greater portion of their audience: heart disease.
