The Holidays are almost upon us. For most, this is the happiest time of year. For others, the Holidays come with stress and depression. With the economy in such a bad place, many more will suffer from Holiday depression this season.

For the depression the Holidays can sometimes bring, medication may not be necessary. Paying attention to diet, getting some extra exercise, and being sure to get enough sleep will help ease depression any time of year.

Try surrounding yourself with happiness. Plan activities that make life happy for you. Read some self help material and follow the advice therein.  If the whole holiday is just too much to handle, take in small doses at a time of holiday cheer.

Let loved ones know what you are feeling. Spend time taking care of yourself this Holiday Season and give yourself the gift of happiness.
 
Keep the true meaning of the Holidays up front in your mind. The Holidays should be a happy time with family and friends and fellowship.
