Have you ever found yourself somewhere and wishing there was a TV set around to keep you from dying of boredom?? Or, wished you had a mobile television to take to work, college, on a trip or had the ability to watch a favorite show or ballgame from any location in your home? Well, here?s food for thought? Why not watch live TV through the Internet!

To do this, requires three basic things (setup):
  1. Desktop or laptop Computer (Windows, MAC or Linux OS)
  2. Internet
  3. Connection to the Internet
Your computer is a multimedia wonder so why not put it to use and take full advantage of it. The Internet is a mass media phenomenon so why not take full advantage of the unlimited free content that?s out there. And, if you are reading this article, no doubt you already have an Internet connection.

As for the latter, a 56k modem or dial-up will only get you but so far when it comes to getting access to all of the mass media and watch live TV through the Internet. This type of Internet connection is called ?narrowband? and is more suitable for listening to radio stations and some channels that have low bandwidths.

If you have/use a wireless (wifi) connection, then you are able to play and watch more Internet TV channels on your computer, which makes this Internet connection is more favorable. This also gives you the ability to travel with your computer and watch live TV through the Internet. Nowadays, anyone can travel throughout the world and easily get a wireless connection.

However, to ensure that all Internet channels will load and play on our computer and to get the best picture quality and overall performance, a broadband Internet connection is highly recommended.

That way, you can enjoy the best of Internet TV has to offer which includes watching live and on-demand channels including videos such as, sports, movies, TV shows/sitcoms/episodes, news, radio stations, music, and other free content across the globe. stream direct reviews

Searching the Internet for live and on-demand channels has become a little easier these days than it was a year ago. However, keep in mind that the Internet is still in it?s baby-stage. As it stands today, there are a limited number of live channels (perhaps in the 1000s) and a huge number of on-demand channels. But don?t get too annoyed because on-demand channels have their perks, and live channels are constantly being streamed to the Internet regularly.

You can search for free channels from your favorite search engine (Google, Yahoo, MSN, etc.) to find live shows and sports. And depending on what you may be searching, it can be rather easy or difficult to find. Nevertheless, this offers a totally free approach that allows you to watch live TV through the Internet.

But here?s another food for thought. What if there was a way to connect to your favorite channels at home and watch them from any location in/out of your home using the Internet?? Or, a product that could streamline, organize and deliver 1000s of free Internet TV channels with a push of a button, so you can watch them on your computer?

To do that requires one of two or perhaps both (if preferred) additional component(s):

Hardware: Slingbox is a great product and is quickly becoming more popular by the day. We live in a day and age where on-the-go lifestyles and portable/mobile devices have taken fold. And companies such as the one that created the Slingbox gives you the ability to watch paid TV channels via Internet on any desktop/laptop computer, ipod and some cell phones.

Although Cable TV companies are now streaming some (not all) of their media over the Internet for paying customers to watch on their computers, you can?t get access to what?s not offered.

Slingbox allows and helps you watch live TV through the Internet including videos when connected to your home television or anyone you know where you can sling their home channels to your computer. In essence, you can watch all the live paid TV channels coming from home without any restrictions.

This product can cost under $100, over $100, or over $200 depending on which model you choose. The picture quality is great which makes using this hardware a great candidate for getting all the live channels you want from any location

Software: The alternative to using hardware is Internet TV software which can be easily downloaded and installed to any computer in a matter of minutes. If you want the easiest, quickest and cheapest setup to create a super computer Internet TV system, then this is the way to go.

However, you will have access to more on-demand channels online than live channels. But, you will never miss a favorite episode or sporting event again - which is one of the many perks you get when using this method. You don?t need any hardware/equipment for this setup and it eliminates having to search the Net for channels - you?ll get 1000s of them delivered to you. The cost can be as low as $30 or as high as $100.

If you still want to watch Internet channels through your TV set, you need to connect your TV and computer together through a compatible video/audio connector cable and converter box.
