So you've composed the 'Bucket List'? and the first item is 'See the Great Wall of China.'? You and your buddy look at one another and both decide this is time to do it: you're heading to China! Then reality sets in: you will need to get packed, you have to handle last minute job responsibilities, and you have no idea where to stay; on top of that, you really can't handles the costs of a long, pricey trip' what are you going to do? The bright side: you can certainly opt for the 'reduced cost'? route and limit your lodging costs dramatically by going with cheap hotel deals or staying at budget hotel chains. Or, if the stars are in alignment and you've got great karma, your plan to travel just happens to coincide with the off-season in China; if this is the case, you can rely on getting exceptional discounts on accommodations, since hotels need to fill their rooms during the off-season and will be more willing to accept as much as 75% off in order to get you to stay. However, regardless of the time of year, there are some things you can do that will help you find discount hotels that fit your last-minute trip plans.

Above all: shop online, book on the Internet, reserve online! There is essentially no corner of the Earth where Internet connections aren't available: in your apartment using a laptop, in your favorite coffee house during a quick packing coffee stop, even at a kiosk at an airport as you are waiting to board the plane. Today there are endless Web deals available and you can even vie online for a room. All you have to do is jump on the Net and become your own travel agent, buying exactly what you want, since the majority of Internet hotel deals come with pictures of the hotel and even the rooms themselves.

Speaking of travel agents, that is another option: call up your area travel agent and have them do everything for you. This simplifies the process for you and gives you additional time in your last-minute rushing around' but there is one potential downside: remember that travel agents have a reason in convincing you to go to pricier lodgings, since they tend to work on a commission basis. Still, if you really are out of time and a little overwhelmed about navigating hotel deals in a place you've never seen before, a travel agent is the way to go.

If both options seem wrong to you, there is always the ultra-cheap way to go: staying in hostels or pension house. Don't forget that the place you rest is not your biggest concern: the point is to get out and see and experience whatever you are able to on the trip. With that in mind, staying at a hostel makes perfect sense: you have a secure bed to sleep in and can use your cash for all the stuff you want to do during the day. And, if you discover you truly can't bear to exercise that super-low cost plan, you could always hunt for discounts and hotel deals while you are checking out the area and stay there instead, staying only a night or two in a hostel.

Above all, don't stress! There are lots of methods to make this number one activity on the 'Bucket List'? a reality, and do it without breaking the bank.
