Does The Earth Need The Oil We Use?
This may sounds like a stupid question to ask, but does our earth need the oil we are using?
Ever since the crisis started with the oil leak I have been asking myself this question. Oil is a natural substance of the the earth and we are taking it for our own personal uses. If it is coming out of the earth, are we destroying our earth by taking the oil?
There has got to be a reason the earth has oil and it is not for our own personal use.
Another question to add to this is who gives BP and any other company for that matter the right to drill for oil. Do they buy a piece of the ocean and start drilling or is it the government giving them rights to drill for oil? These are just a few questions that have bugged me and question whether or not we are destroying the earth by taking the oil.
If you have anything to add or can help shed some light on my questions please do so.

Wedding,
One way that helps me is to just start writing my thoughts down on paper whether or not they make since. I pick things from other peoples writings. I may see something I know about or have an opinion about and I'll start writing.
For Example:
This topic has nothing to do with my business. It was something that was on my mind and I wanted to throw it out there to get other peoples opinions.
I hope this helped,

Thank you for accepting my request to become a part of this group. I love to write but have much room for improvement. It seems I get excited and have all these thoughts and ideas in my head and some times, I cannot get them on paper and or know how to connect them to our business.

Thank you for the comment ianb1970,
I was just reading something that was fascinating about oil that I never knew.
"A quote from another site: During WW2. Hitler was cut off by the whole world on supplies. With out supplies to run his war machines, his army would not stand a chance. So he told his scientists to come up with an oil, or an oil replacement that could be made. Thus the first synthetic oil was made. Hitler's scientist had discovered they could make oil out of coal. This was c

Wow, this blog is going off. We had a similar issue off the coast of Australia recently but much smaller scale (12 days) then the one BP caused. The Australian one was in an area with minmal population, so no idea the impact. But is the Gulf of mexico with so many people affected...
Good Question Lonnie :-)

I watched on MSMBC Channel last night that it was the Bush/Cheney conglomerate that gave those rights to drill in the Gulf of Mexico. It seemed pretty valid with their facts and comments. As far as does the earth need the oil - they are not even sure what oil is from exactly. What we are taught in school, I found out, is simply a theory. Whatever the answer, the whole world is in a mess now because of it.

This is off the topic...
I can't believe they didn't have some kind of back up plan before this oil spill happened.
I don't know if they had a plan set in place, but you would think that before you start drilling you have some kind of plan in place to cap off a leak before it gets out of control. Don't wait till it happens and hope you can fix it.
I would like to know if the earth needs the oil. My youngest boy said he thinks it is a lubrication for the earth to rotate. Doesn't sound

I came across on bbc how the recent oil tragedy is going to effect the future generation if precautions are not taken right now. - As a society we want and need oil.

Very good question! I found this online not sure of how true it is but take a look...
"John,
Salt water, oil and gas occupy the space between sand grains in a petroleum reservoir. Gas is less dense than oil and oil is less dense than water so the three fluids in the reservoir are layered with the gas at the top, the oil in the middle and the highly saline water underneath. The weight of the overlying rocks pressurizes the the fluids in the reservoir. When penetrated by a well, the fluid

I am wondering if the spaces "void of oil" are creating shifts in plate tectonics. ( http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#!/profile.php?id=855985721 )
