I think there is something about opening the windows for the first time since winter - it just makes you feel like getting everything clean. I really appreciate these tips. I have never actually thought about vacuming my matress great idea and great hub. A bit more expensive, but a great investment. I actually changed mattress pads to the kind that doesn't let anything through.

Purge clothing that is too small, irreparable, out of style. Store seasonal bedding and clothing. Semi Annually - Move and vacuum under dressers and such.
If you have mirrors give them a quick swipe with window cleaner. Dust all surfaces and knickknacks. Clean up any clutter and hang up all clothing and/or put dirty laundry in laundry hampers. Then make the bed and air the room by opening windows for about 30 minutes. Follow this basic cleaning list to keep your room a comforting place to be. The bedroom is where you sleep and if its not maintained and set up in order to allow you those restful hours then that needs to change.
