Finally, Dakota Fanning Confirmed For 'New Moon'
Finally, it’s been confirmed that Dakota Fanning will be appearing in the Twilight sequel New Moon. I wonder if anybody still remembers when this bit spilled out a couple of months ago. Well, those two months felt like a very long time, hasn’t it? As New Moon hurtled towards production—already a little notorious since Catherine Hardwicke left the director’s seat, with Chris Weitz taking over—we were being bombarded with a lot of rumors regarding who will appear as the new characters. Remember when you shuddered at the thought of Vanessa Hudgens becoming a vampire? Or perhaps Madonna?
Now, Fanning—who last appeared in The Secret Life of Bees, and provided her voice to Coraline—is indeed appearing as Jane, a vampire with angelic looks but quite sinister tendencies who works for the Volturi. Summit Entertainment finally made the announcement after details regarding the sequel’s shoot leaked, and some media outfits all but confirmed the 15-year-old’s participation.
New Moon is set to start shooting at the end of this month—in Vancouver, rather than near Forks—with the film out by November.
