OK-State Attorneys General pass legal services plan resolution

(OK) The National Association of Attorneys General yesterday passed a resolution at its summer conference to support the concept of prepaid legal services plans. The resolution was sponsored by Attorney General Drew Edmondson.

"Prepaid legal plans provide consumers with attorneys in time of need," Edmondson said. "More importantly, they provide consumers with affordable access to legal advice in advance which can often resolve an issue without going to court."

According to the resolution, the American Bar Association has long supported the concept of prepaid legal services plans.

"Prepaid legal plans are just like car insurance," Edmondson said. "You hope you never need it, but when you do it's good to have."

The resolution supports the concept of prepaid legal services plans and does not endorse any particular provider.
