Identifying with your fellow IDTs on a human and emotional level and sharing your dreams is a much more powerful motivator for the whole team to work together. The ideal of wanting to live abroad and experience the world is a lot more identifiable than the need to make money. Wanting to provide an education for your children is much more relatable than doing a great program. Having the support of others makes your goal an easier target to reach.
