The Wal-Mart Empire

by Karl Rose

Hi all,

We did our monthly shopping today and NOTHING was purchased at Wal-Mart!! YAY! Plus we did a little research on Martin's. It is NOT a chain supermart like we thought. It is a big store BUT is a FAMILY owned and operatd store. They are 'butting heads' with the wal-mart here and we are now doing ALL of our shopping there. Now they don't have anything like jeans or shoes so in that case we ares till stuck with wal-mart. But for ALL our basic needs we are going 100% with Martins. This is a GOOD day for those who despise thw Wal Mart Empire.

Thanks for that Karl. I do all of my shopping at HEB and if I need something HEB does not supply, I try to check the sales in the local malls.

EXACTLY! I think we are on the same page here Cheryl. We are doing so much less at wal-mart now, I feel like I've been released from a stranglehold. I never realized just how stong of a grip wal-mart has on people. Hopefully MORE people will recognize this and turn to other sources. Have a GREAT DAY!

I've never really been a big fan of Walmart. I saw what was happening in the smaller towns a long time ago. Unfortunately most people were not willing to listen back then. Now they are beginning to see the damage that Walmart has caused.

Walmart rules down here....if you guys only knew my story about walmart......just don't ever get hurt there. :0(
Luckily they settled with me (btw Walmart never does)....but I had 3 choices, surgery, pain meds....or settle. I chose to settle because it was 4 yrs of HELL. They had detectives following me, and I never claimed to be dying, or paralyzed. Pretty funny story, but then again it isn't.
I was putting my youngest boy at the time in the shopping cart when all of a sudden I was thrusted forward. I turned around and the machine pushing the shopping carts...the guy ran about 100 into my back (plus the moving machine). The carts when directly between L4 and L5 of my spine (and engineer on the case said it was like a car going 5 mph hitting my back). It took months of bull crap therapy (which only made me worse).
Actually let me go back to that day. After this happened I wondered if I should say something or not. I mean I knew I got hit pretty hard...but I was still kinda shocked. (my boys were 4 and 2 at that time..they remember the whole thing). Luckily I did, and the damn manager told me to go home and take an aspirin!!!! I filled out the report (btw was lost..and so was the tape...hmmmm). So I called the next day after I could not GET UP. And talked to the STORE manager this time and he knew nothing about the situation..or said he didn't. Then I asked him for a number to call...I was about to go to the emergency room. He told me there wasn't a number. So then DUH I called 1-800-WALMART..LOW and behold got someone. And told the lady what happened. She then asked me what I expected her to do about it. When I told her I thought walmart should atleast pay my dr bill to the emergency room...she said nope....SUE US. And hung up. Oh it still makes me cringe when I think about it all. This is the reason I don't have my boys anymore living with me full time (I had to change over custody because my lawyers wouldn't let me work...and I was a single mother). Anyways I was stupid I shouldn't of settled...but they put me through HELL!!! I wasn't out for blood money. I was injured by ANOTHERS stupidity. I got a whopping $50,000....$20,000 dr bills $15,000 Lawyer....and $5000 to me. Got that one out. But I forgive them...and THEY will get theirs!!!

And oh...not all my dr bills were paid. I was only 22 when it happened. In order for me to 'win big'..I was expected to have surgery, go on disability..and all that junk. I have won in the long run. Still deal with the back pain. I hate that I have to go to Walmart, and I would be so pissed when I would go. Now I bless every penny I spend to them, because I know it will all come back to me. They will get theirs. I just know it!

Well trust me Cheryl....I did not know ANYTHING about Walmart and how crooked they were...until I became the victim. Then I could not believe all that I had found out about that company.

That's why they hide behind a Smiley face. To keep people from realizing just how evil they are.

Hi Jen. THAT is just AWFUL. I know it may not make any difference in your situation, but NOW I WILL make sure we NEVER shop at wal-mart again(unfortunately I have to get my meds there). I tried breaking away from them on even those but the other pharmacies are still too expensive and Martins does not have one...YET(they are putting one in). Once THAT is complete ALL our shopping will be at Martins.

It's ok Karl. Like I said, I know what comes around goes around. They think they screwed me...when in the long run they have only screwed themselves. I really don't have much choice but to go to Walmart because I live in the sticks..and that is the only thing around here. Unless I travel 50 miles. So instead of getting mad, I bless what I spend...and I forgive all the evil they cause me and my family.

Hi Jen. I just sent you a msg. THANKS for sending me one. I guess you live in the sticks too. We have to drive 35 miles just to get to Martin's and it is another mile or so to wal-mart. I forgot to mention Martin's has a CITGO gas station and they give yu credits on gas based on your shopping habits. WE filled up at $3.60/gallon!(pretty SAD when one get EXCITED at THAT price). Oh well. The $.40/gallon really SAVED us a LOT and a MUCH better deal that what wal-mart can do. Talk to you later. Karl
