What Is Wrong With These People?
This morning, I'm a bit cross, having just been to my website blog to add a post.
Found there were sixteen comments awaiting moderation, so got a little excited, having never
had anything like that before.
Talk about too good to be true! Every one of them was an ad for either Auto, Life, or
General Insurance, a subject that has absolutely nothing to do with the topics in the
blog at all.
Some people have far too much time on their hands, that's obvious. Why don't they
use their time in writing proper ads in the proper places, or is that just too easy? If I
want insurance, I'll go looking for it, I won't purchase it from some moron who posts
unwanted ads on my blog.
OK rant over - isn't it good to have a place where we can get rid of all these minor
irritations and write them out? :-)

I use Contactify-- It requires Human interaction and there's no getting around it... Sort of like a really mean Hippo guarding your site! LOL! :)

When I've updated my Wordpress blog to 2.5.1, then I'll look at Akismet
as it sounds like a good idea.

Those ads were generated by an autoposting software that is available. While in the right hands this can be a good thing, there are many people online that will abuse anything they get their hands on. >-( If you have Akismet installed, it will catch 95% of this type of comments) Akismet only works on WordPress Blogs though.
