Once you are actually my friend... then you could send me that message asking me to look at your program. This is truly basic social etiquette Francis. Think about it. Why would I be more apt to look at your program than the thousands of others I see when I open my email everyday? The only thing that would make me look is that you took the time to get to know me.

There is a big difference between blatant advertisting and having a link under your name in a sig file. Blatant is well... blatant...

Friends don't send personal messages to their friends saying read what I wrote and top it for me. Friends send personal messages saying hey how are you? When you make friends on a social network, they will be interested enough in you to go look at your profile and click on your links

See ...you can write "great copy "without sending to a bunch of people in their inboxes and asking them to TOP.

I find it inexcusable to be pitched to my message box especially as when I send my intro it states quite clearly not to send me ads.

Actually it is like what I have always said about the cocktail party and dancing on the table.
Bj gave you good advise. sort of glad you chose to put a private message out to the public perhaps more people will stop pitching me in my private messages as you have done.
I am on BJ's side on this one for sure.
