Then the turn around and sell you an E-book that confuses you. They will often explain how to promote an affiliate program using Google Adwords or some other expensive advertising medium.

But what about the rest of us? Those who do not know how to set up a squeeze page or know what one is. What about those who don't have money laying around the house they can use to "test" their ads. How are people in these situations supposed to get their home business started? This is a hard question to answer when the only ones willing to answer are the Gurus, those who decided to make their living selling what they know. This keeps many people from becoming affiliate marketers.

What makes Guru's different from the rest?

Aside from their knowledge, their level of success is much higher. These Guru's or Super Affiliates decided at some point in their past to not quit. These super affiliates didn't let failure or short comings interfere with their overall goal. They kept moving forward.

Why does it seem like they are hiding their traffic sources from you?

These affiliate marketers are not hiding any thing. They sell you the affiliate methods they use. No matter if they are free or paid. Many of the paid sources work much faster than the free methods most of them work. When funds are limited, you will have to start out with the free methods. This is where the problem often come in. The free methods take more time and work than the paid methods.

What now?

Do more research. Find the "Guru" or "Super Affiliate" that is teaching affiliate strategies for beginners. Find products that teach "newbie' Marketers. Look around the internet, There is plenty of free information to get you started. Most of all, Don't give up. It is possible to make a living online.
